BauernBrot 1/2 Baked Round Loafs

This bread is the real deal if you want to have ein echtes Deutsches fruhstück! After we received our shipment I put the bread in our freezer. A week later I took one of these loafs out of the freezer. It was frozen solid and I let it thaw out over nightread more. It came with oven instructions, but I tried something different. We have a Cosori air fryer. The baking instructions that came with the bread mentioned baking it with steam. I put 1/4 cup of water in the air fryer and ran it through the pre heat cycle and I set it on 350 degrees for pre heating. The pre heat cycle ran for 4 minutes. Then immediately after pre heating, and without adding more water I put the bread in the basket and hit the “Bread” setting. When I hit the “Bread” button, the default setting came up as 320 degrees for 8 minutes. I didn’t change anything at all and let it run on the entire 320 degrees for 8 minutes. As soon as it was finished I took it out and set it on a bread rack to let it cool. It turned out absolutely perfect inside and out. And the crust war knusprig wie echtes Deutsches brot frisch aus dem Bäckerei!

I followed the instructions, thawing it and then baking it - and it was so delicious! It lasted me almost a week since I'm the only one eating it, and it was still great after 6 days!

.............next time we going to defrost it first - we put it in the oven frozen - maybe that's why there was a little layer of softness under the crust? Flavor and texure was fine!
