Do you have a REAL store & sausage plant and do you really make your own sausage?
Yes, all of our sausage is made right here in our Madison, Wisconsin plant. We have a beautiful German style Chalet that houses our Retail Deli Store & attached Production Plant and if you are in the Madison area, we'd love to have you stop in!
Are you just another online warehouse?
No, we are not a warehouse. We are a real live U.S.D.A. Federally Inspected Sausage Production Plant and Retail Store in Madison, Wisconsin and have been in business here in Madison since 1961. We do not believe in "stock-piling" or "warehousing" our products as other sausage manufacturers and online 'virtual' stores & deli's may prefer to do.
We want to ensure quality and freshness in every product we offer and with that standard in mind, stockpiling and warehousing goes against this tradition.
We firmly believe that applying smaller batch quantities and proper attention to product turn-around & rotation helps ensure that every customer gets a quality fresh product. You will not see our freezers or refrigeration units "stock-piled" with any of our items... we do not believe in it.
Do you take phone orders?
Yes, of course! We realize that most people prefer to talk to someone rather than punching numbers into an automated phone system for assistance and we want you to feel comfortable with doing business with us! We do offer online assistance, just send us an email and we will respond. Also, if you place your order via phone with one of our staff members who will be happy to help you. You will not receive a tracking number unless you give us your email address.

PRODUCT DATES- We have noticed the last couple of years, product coming from Germany has come in with expired dates or very short dates. Starting July 1st 2015 we can no longer re-ship or re- fund expired products- unless it is fish or a perishable product. Because of the volume we ship, we never have old product sitting here. It comes in with these dates. According to the USDA all other non- perishable products will stay safe for up to 1 year, and sometimes longer. Some companies will put very short dates on items so they can sell more!
