Vinegar too sour / sharp / stout

The herring was tender (almost too tender to the point of being a bit mushy) and the vinegar made it difficult to swallow at all. The vinegar was not the least bit smooth or mellow, but exceedingly harsh. My grocery store brand is so much better than thisread more
